A Three-Hour Live Online or Onsite Symposium

Presented by Patti Connolly, Waldorf teacher & mentor

“Strike a chord with which the souls of our children happily vibrate.”
- Rudolf Steiner

During this symposium, we delve into both the philosophical underpinnings of Waldorf education and explore effective and creative class management practices. When woven together, these approaches can help transform a class environment from one of uncertainty or chaos into one of loving firmness.

Our journey begins with a glimpse of the anthroposophical view of how children perceive the world as they move through the three mini-cycles of middle childhood (6-14 years). With this understanding as our foundation, we will look at building your leadership capacities by exploring five magic gems of teacher self-development.

Our work together includes:

  • Brainstorming how to work with the children’s tendencies at each age, not against them.
  • Understanding and learning how to become the Wise Elder
  • Moving to the next level in creating and following supportive classroom rhythms.
  • Building a cohesive class community by engaging in such activities as developing class agreements, mediating restorative meetings between students, and more.
  • Seeing misbehavior as an opportunity to learn and learning how to lovingly and effectively support students with challenging behavior.

With each gem you receive imaginative, spiritual, and practical ways for you to implement your goals.
